How long does AI clipping take?
3 min read · Updated October 30, 2026
It depends mostly on the length of the video. The tool has to listen to the speech, score the moments and render each clip, and none of that is instant. A short video can take minutes; a multi-hour stream takes longer.
Start a run →What takes the time
- Transcribing the speech (scales with the video's length).
- Scoring the moments.
- Rendering each clip.
Planning around it
- Start a run before you do something else: it keeps going if you close the tab.
- Paste timestamps to limit the work to the parts you care about.
- Ask for a sensible number of clips rather than the maximum.
A real example
As one data point, a 115-minute video took about 34 minutes to clip on Zlayo's free server. Your times will vary with load and the video.
Questions
Yes. The work runs on the server.
