How to add text to speech on TikTok

TikTok has text to speech built in: add text to your video, tap it and choose Text-to-speech. For longer narration or more natural voices, make the voiceover first and add it to the video.

- 1
Add text
In the TikTok editor, tap Text and type what you want read.
- 2
Turn on text-to-speech
Tap the text on screen and choose Text-to-speech, then pick a voice.
- 3
Time it
Drag the text's duration so the voice lines up with the video.
When you want more
TikTok's voices work for a line or two. For full narration — a story, an explainer — a dedicated AI voiceover gives you more natural voices, control over speed and pitch, and the same voice on every video. Zlayo's voiceover generator has fifteen voices or your own cloned voice, and its Reddit story and fake text makers narrate whole videos for you.
