What font does TikTok use for captions?
2 min read · Updated October 24, 2026
TikTok's own interface and text use its own typeface, TikTok Sans. For burned-in captions, creators usually use heavy, rounded fonts that stay readable on a small screen.
Add captions in your font →Popular caption fonts
- Poppins ExtraBold or Black — clean and very readable.
- Montserrat ExtraBold — the classic "podcast clip" look.
- Anton or Bebas Neue — tall and punchy for one or two words at a time.
- Lilita One, Titan One or Bangers — rounded, playful styles.
What matters more than the font
- Size: big enough to read at a glance.
- A thin outline or soft shadow so it reads on any background — too thick and letters turn into blobs.
- A few words at a time, with the spoken word highlighted.
- Placed where TikTok's buttons and caption won't cover it.
